Spinal Epidurals

A spinal epidural is an injection of anti-inflammatory medication into space outside of the sac of fluid around the spinal cord. It is different from epidural anesthesia that is often given to women to relieve their pain during labor and delivery. Epidural steroid injections offer short-term pain relief—weeks or months—for people with back pain that has not improved with other medications or non- surgical treatments.
